The Children’s Arts Award is a wonderful opportunity for children aged 7-11 to explore the world of the arts and develop their own interests and skills.

There are four parts to the Children’s Arts Award which children can complete at their own pace selecting activities that interest and inspire them. The four parts can be done in any order and they are all explained in simple easy to follow instructions in the Arts Award brochure. An adult in school will be your Arts Champion and they will support children throughout the award. Parents/Carers can also get involved and support their child through the process.

Piloted in 2009 across the West Midlands in 2009, the award is now being rolled out across schools. It is an ideal introduction to the arts for children, helping them explore ways to participate in the arts and share their interest with peers and their families. In addition to developing interests and skills, the award can contribute towards young people's self esteem and confidence as they broaden their horizons and explore new arts based learning opportunities.
