Telford Dance Festival is delighted to announce a truly spectacular line up for 2010, kicking off the new decade in real style at The Place @ Oakengates. We are really looking forward to our second event that will take audiences on a journey to celebrate the spirit of the dance. Each evening will present a dynamic, exciting mix of performances from local young people, emerging new dance artists and professional companies. We also have the unique 'Dansense' performances on Saturday. This show is a unique high quality production unlike anything you will have seen before, appearing in Telford as part of a national tour, Dansense will delight the whole family and live long in the memory.

Last year presented the first Dance Festival and captured all that is naturally powerful about dance as an artform. We saw innovative movement, interpretation and choreography presented by vibrant performers who brought their passion for dance to the stage in spectacular style. This year has once again inspired lots of local young people to bring their work to Oakengates Theatre, showcasing their talent and getting invaluable experience from performing alongside top professionals.

Dance has been and will continue to be a cornerstone of our cultural offer. We have been able to bring some fantastic professional dance companies, practitioners and choreographers to Telford & Wrekin to perform and support a rich programme of dance workshops. Dance has become one of our most popular activities and we have seen workshops flourish as more and more people participate and enjoy the life enhancing benefits of dance.
