Welcome to Find Your Talent
Find Your Talent gives children and young people the chance to try out different cultural and creative activities.It's about helping them to discover new things, to express
themselves, to develop a passion and to make the most of their talent.
Whether it is music, art, film, theatre, dance, digital media,
exploring libraries, museums or heritage, Find Your Talent is for every
child and young person, whatever their age and whatever their ability.
Telford & Wrekin was selected as one of the ten Find Your Talent pathfinder programmes areas across
England from 141 applications. The programme aims to offer children and young people regular involvement with
arts and culture both in and out of school. Find Your Talent is funded
by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for
Children, Schools and Families, Arts Council England and the Museums,
Libraries and Archives Council.
Find your Talent includes giving young people in Telford & Wrekin the chance to perform on stage and
attend top quality performances, exhibitions at museums and galleries. It will
help them access heritage sites and get hands-on experience of the creative
industries including film-making, radio and TV. It will help them express their
creative talents, learn a musical instrument, and take part in a musical
performance in front of an audience. The programme will enable them to be heard
through creative writing and appreciate authors and how they work. They will learn
about and practise new media and digital art develop art and craft skills.
The desire to provide
this level of cultural opportunity is driven by the desire to see all young
people develop their talents to the full. We are in the second year of our three year programme and the projects listed in this section
provide snapshots of what Find Your Talent looks like in Telford & Wrekin.
