Telford & Wrekin Music

Telford & Wrekin Music provides a wide range of instrumental and singing lessons for children and young people in schools across Telford & Wrekin at all levels of achievement.

We currently offer music lessons on:-

• Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Saxophone, Bassoon)

• Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Jazz Double Bass and Double bass)

• Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, French & Tenor horn, Euphonium and Cornet)

• Keyboard

• Singing

• Drums and Orchestral Percussion

• Guitar (including Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar and Acoustic Guitar), including after school group Guitar sessions at The Place, Oakengates

Pupils have the opportunity to perform in concerts, after school music ensembles and to enter for music exams such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools Music exams and the Rock School exams. Every child taught by Telford & Wrekin Music receives a written report from their instrumental teacher at the end of each term.

 

Cost of Lessons:

Our lessons take place during the school day. We provide 30 minute lessons with 10 music lessons a term at a charge of £7.50 per lesson. 

  • We offer free music lessons to those pupils on Free School Meals and Children in Care. 
  • A 25% reduction on lesson charges for those parents on Working Tax Credits.

All our music teachers are experienced teachers and musicians who have undergone child protection checks and training and under go regular lesson observations.

 

Instruments

Telford & Wrekin Music offers a range of musical instruments for hire by parents and schools. Currently we do not hire out keyboards, drums or guitars. Also the Arts Council England's scheme Take it Away offers interest free loans for the purchase of musical instruments. (conditions apply)

Please note we do not offer every instrument in every school and is subject to change at short notice.

We currently run on a Monday evening at Charlton school in Wellington music theory lessons, please contact us for further details.
