Ercall Wood School Shelter
Pupils from Ercall Wood School had the opportunity to design their very own eco-friendly shelter to help transform an area of the school garden. After several hands-on workshops at the school, the shelter was constructed during a sunny day in Malvern as the pupils had the chance to see their design come to life. The shelter became the focal point of The Budding Scientist Garden, a creation by local garden designer Rachel Phillips.
Rachel's garden came to life at the Three Counties Showground and was there for all to see during the Malvern Spring Gardening Show during May 2011. As an entrant to the Chris Beardshaw Mentoring Scholarship designer competition, the garden was successful in winning the prestigious Silver Gilt Award.
The shelter was later moved to Ercall Wood School and has become the centre of a small habitat in the garden.
